Welcome. This page gets you from nothing to using AUREN in about ten minutes. No technical knowledge needed.

What AUREN is

AUREN is a public network with its own coin, AUR. You can send AUR to anyone in seconds for a tiny fee, earn rewards by staking it, give your wallet an easy name like alice.aur, and use apps built on it. Independent computers (nodes) check every payment, so no single company controls it.

What you need

A web browser. That is all. Or download the AUREN Wallet app for Windows or Android from the releases page.

Step 1: Open your wallet

Go to the website and press Open wallet (or open the app). Pick a network at the top: Devnet, Testnet or Mainnet. See Networks for what each one is. Mainnet has not launched yet.

Step 2: Create your wallet

1. Press Create a new wallet.
2. Save your recovery key. Write it on paper and keep it somewhere safe. It is the only way to get your coins back if you forget your password or lose your device. Never share it with anyone. Nobody from AUREN will ever ask for it.
3. Choose a password. You will type it each time you open the wallet on this device.

Step 3: Get some AUR

On the devnet and testnet, open Receive and press Get 1,000 AUR. Coins arrive in a few seconds. On mainnet you will get AUR by receiving it from someone else.

Step 4: Send a payment

1. Open Send.
2. Enter an address or a name like alice.aur, and an amount.
3. Press Review. The wallet asks the network to preview the payment and shows the exact fee. A normal payment costs a tiny fraction of a cent.
4. Press Sign & send. It confirms in a few seconds.

Step 5: Receive a payment

Open Receive and copy your address. Share it with the person paying you. It is safe to share.

Step 6: Earn by staking

Open Stake, pick a validator, enter an amount and confirm. You earn rewards while it is staked. When you unstake, your coins come back after a waiting period. Read the Staking guide first.

Step 7: Get a name

Open Names, search a name like alice, and register it. Now people can pay alice.aur instead of a long address. You can even create your own ending, like .david. See Names, domains and your own TLD.

Step 8: Help the network and earn

Run a node on your computer or phone and earn a share of new AUR. Download AUREN Node, choose a network, keep Earn AUR on and press Start. See Run a node and Node rewards.

Staying safe

• AUREN is new software and has not been independently audited yet. Only use what you can afford to lose.
• Keep your recovery key private and offline.
• Check the address and amount on the Review screen every time.
• Set up trusted helpers and a daily limit in Security (Wallet guide).
